When/where can I vote?
- North Carolina 2023-2024 Elections:
- Local Elections: October 10 & Novemeber 7, 2023 *depends on your city/county/town, click here to find out more.
- Primary Election: March 5, 2024
- Must be registered to vote by February 9th, 2024
- General Election: November 5, 2024. If voting on election day in NC, you can ONLY vote at your designated polling location. Look up your polling location here.
- Must be registered to vote by October 11th, 2024
- If registered in another state, look up your polling location here.

What identification do I need to vote?
- You will be asked to show photo ID when you go vote
- IF YOU HAVE AN APPROVED ID, BRING IT WITH YOU TO VOTE. See the graphic above for a list of approved IDs. For more information about voter IDs, click here.
- New AppCards printed on or after 8/10/2023 will be the new voter ID card design (white background/10 year expiration date)
- If you would like a replacement card to make sure your app card is compliant with the new guidelines, you can complete a Replacement Card form to cover the card cost
- If replacement cost is a financial hardship, you can seek out other "no fee" options from the NCDMV or the Watauaga County Board of Elections
