About
Beginning in the Fall of 2021, App Votes in conjunction with the Office of Community-Engaged Leadership created a Voter Coalition to meet the requirement to make a good faith effort to distribute voter registration forms to all students (Higher Education Act of 1965).
So, what is a Voter Coalition? The goal of the coalition is to increase civic engagement on campus every year through activities such as educational presentations, voter registration parties, and getting people to the polls. You can expect 1-2 meetings per month, 100% non-partisanship, opportunities to educate yourself and your peers on the democratic process, and to help engage everyone on our campus in voting.
For questions or additional information about how to join the App State Voter Coalition, contact Ashley Vinson at vinsonab@appstate.edu or appvotes@appstate.edu.
Vision
Our vision is to implement voter registration and education activities and increase student participation in local, state, and national voting and election initiatives this year and in future elections.
“Your vote is precious, almost sacred. It is the most powerful nonviolent tool we have to create a more perfect union.”
— Rep. John Lewis
